I ask because I have been thinking of the usefulness of these filters. I believe that filtering spam at the point of the ISP is not as effective as on the desktop. This is because the ISP uses a blanket definition of spam.

AutoSmiley works by traversing through all the nodes of a HTML tree, somewhat like a SAX parser. It looks for text nodes, and only text nodes that contains the smiley symbols are interpreted. It clearly is an attempt to drive more visitors into their Amazon circle. There 'ecommerce' feature of A9 is a sidebar that lists down similar items to his search term. It's quite interesting, but if I want to do a search, I would use Google. From what I have read so say, A9 is built on top of Google's searches!
